Balfour Beatty announced the official openings of two major transportation projects for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. In December, the Havelock Bypass project officially opened to vehicular traffic, a significant achievement in reducing congestion and improving hurricane evacuation routes along a portion of U.S. 70. Balfour Beatty’s scope of work included constructing approximately 9.2 miles of four-lane, divided highway with interchanges, bridges and environmental features designed to protect the Croatan National Forest. Interstate Highway Improvements Completed in Texas
Interstate Highway 10 Improvements at Old Fredericksburg in Leon Springs, Texas, have been completed. Sundt Construction served as the general contractor. “Our team faced multiple challenges on this project,” said Project Manager Pat Beal. “Weather impacts had to be worked through and we needed to maintain access for the traveling public on intersection and ramps during multiple phases of construction.
