ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The American Society of Concrete Contractors has completed a new Concrete Finishing Training DVD. The 46-minute presentation provides finishers with basic instruction in both hand and machine concrete finishing slabs-on-ground and suspended slabs.
The presentation is divided into sections for easy viewing, stop/start and review. The concrete finishing training DVD covers the following topics: safety, concrete properties, types of finishes, finishing processes, equipment, joints and troubleshooting.
Footage was shot on working jobsites to best demonstrate correct finishing techniques. “This presentation is an excellent introduction to finishing basics for the new finisher, and a great review for more experienced employees,” said Scott Anderson, chair of ASCC's Education & Training Committee, the group responsible for this training tool.
