ST. LOUIS, Mo. — MC Industrial, Inc. recently celebrated the topping out of one of its major 2016 projects, the expansion of Boeing’s new composite facility, the St. Louis Composite Center of Excellence, in Missouri.
Selected as general contractor for the Design-Build project in 2014, MC Industrial, along with design partner Burns & McDonnell, have managed the design and construction of the multi-million dollar expansion. Located on Boeing’s St. Louis campus, the MC Industrial team self-performed structural steel erection to top out the 424,000-square-foot manufacturing and paint facility.
Boeing’s St. Louis Composite Center of Excellence will serve as the production hub for manufacturing composite parts to fabricate wing and empennage pieces for Boeing’s new 777X airplane program. The topping out milestone marks the project’s approaching completion date scheduled for September 2016.
