MILWAUKEE, Wis., and TAMPA, Fla. – Hammes Company has broken ground on the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute located in Water Street Tampa, a downtown district in Tampa, Florida.
The project team includes Hammes Company as the project manager and HOK / Skanska as the design builder.
The 13-story, 395,000-square-foot high-rise is rooted in Hammes Company’s collaborative Buildings for Life planning philosophy designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the healthcare industry. The HOK design supports access to care through an interdisciplinary, experience-based health, wellness and science research and higher learning service model.
The facility is the first site and a key anchor in an amenity-rich, highly accessible $3-billion real estate development by Strategic Property Partners that will establish Tampa’s downtown district, named Water Street Tampa, as an innovative and vibrant community.
USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute is slated for winter 2019 completion.
