SEAA’s Craft Training Program Benefits Member Companies

Three companies have joined the Steel Erectors Association of America’s network of SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training Units and Assessment Sites. These companies are All Forms Fabrication, Steamboat Springs, Colorado; GMF Steel Group, Lakeland, Florida and SL Chasse Steel Fabricators and Erectors, Hudson, New Hampshire.

The program grants SEAA member companies access to nationally recognized credentials for ironworkers, riggers, crane operators and signal persons. Because of SEAA’s affiliation with NCCER, members also have access to the craft training materials, assessments and certifications for all of NCCER’s craft training curriculum.

“The SEAA/NCCER training program gives member companies access to quality training and workforce development tools that is beneficial for companies of all sizes,” said Tim Eldridge, president of Education Services Unlimited and SEAA’s Craft Training and Assessment Administrator. “If you’re a small company, this program can connect you with the resources you need to jumpstart you’re training while keeping the cost down. For larger companies, the program can streamline training.”

All Forms Fabrication provides fabrication services for structural steel, aluminum, stainless steel and specializes in the fabrication and erection of structural, ornamental and architectural steel.

“Safety is always our priority and as a small company being able to provide cutting edge training for my employees takes us to the next level,” said Will Richardson, owner of All Forms Fabrication. All Forms Fabrication is a training unit and assessment site that utilizes NCCER’s welding and ironworker curriculums to train employees.

SL Chasse Steel Fabricators and Erectors is a full-service structural steel and miscellaneous metals supplier. The company is an AISC Certified Fabricator and provides its services to commercial customers in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and New England. SL Chasse Steel is training its ironworkers using the NCCER ironworker curriculum.

GMF Steel Group is an AISC certified fabricator and Advanced Certified Steel Erector that is training employees using the NCCER ironwork curriculum. GMF Steel Group is also in process of registering its apprenticeship program through SEAA’s U.S. Department of Labor-approved Ironworker Apprenticeship Standard.

“Apprenticeships are a great tool to build standardization and consistency in ironworker craft training,” said Eldridge. “SEAA’s DOL Apprenticeship program provides members a tool to create and register formal training programs that meet both state and federal government requirements.”
