Construction Complete for $120M Long-Term Care Center for Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority

Construction firm Robins & Morton completed a new $120 million, 131,000-square-foot long-term care facility for the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority in Cherokee, North Carolina.

The facility — called the Tsali Care Center — stands two stories and contains 120 private resident rooms. It is devoted to the care of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and will feature skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care services, in addition to a dialysis center. To provide residents and visitors with ample outdoor space, the center has four courtyards, as well as a spacious Friends and Family Room and communal dining options.

The new building replaces an existing facility approximately three miles away. The move allows the CIHA to increase bed capacity by 50 and further consolidate services closer to the hospital’s campus, supporting the care continuum.

Robins & Morton was the general contractor and McMillan Pazdan Smith was the architect. This is the sixth project that Robins & Morton has completed for the CIHA since 2014.
