Industry experts Cooper Martin and Courtney Field have recently joined Swinerton as project executives in the company’s Atlanta, Georgia and Carolinas divisions, respectively.

Martin brings an extensive construction acumen to the firm’s leadership team with experience managing over $370 million of construction projects spanning nearly 3 million square feet. As the grandson of a civil contractor and the son of a Georgia Power electrical engineer, Martin was inspired by the AEC industry from a young age. During a college break, Martin interned on a jobsite and found his calling, changing his major to construction management, and later graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University. He returned to the same company and rose through the ranks from project engineer to senior project manager over the next 14 years.
His portfolio includes a 20-story Hampton Inn and Suites (Atlanta), Aaron Cohn Middle School (Columbus, Ga.), Dorothy Heights Elementary School (Columbus, Ga.), Georgia Institute of Technology’s Love and Alumni Association buildings (Atlanta) and numerous Midtown Atlanta residential communities with adjacent parking structures, including Novel Midtown, 1018 West Peachtree and Alta Midtown.

Field adds nearly two decades of construction experience, with the last 12 years dedicated to multifamily, spanning a portfolio of over $429-million projects to strengthen Swinerton’s multifamily capabilities, as the demand for this residential product continues to grow in Charlotte and other metropolitans throughout the Carolinas. Field’s passion for construction comes from her desire to create lasting, tangible results that blend creativity and strategy.
Since beginning her career in 2008 and entering the multifamily sector in 2014, she’s overseen the construction of over 2,500 multifamily units, including 2,300 affordable housing units for families and seniors. In 2017, she earned her general contractor’s license to deepen her understanding of the overall construction lifecycle. Field also is the first North Carolina professional to earn a Certificate of Management – Lean Construction from the Associated General Contractors of America. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in design, Field has served in a variety of roles in the construction industry, including those in preconstruction, field execution, business development, trade partner development and project management.
