The Beck Group has launched construction on the first Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Texas. Kintetsu Group Holdings, a Japanese-based global enterprise with interests spanning hospitality, transportation and real estate, hosted the groundbreaking of its Miyako Hybrid Hotel Plano. Projected to open fall 2027, the 12-story, 217-room boutique hotel seeks to bring Japanese elegance and premier service to the North Texas region.
The hotel will be the first Miyako Hotels & Resorts property in Texas and only the third in the United States, following locations in Los Angeles and Torrance, California.
Operated by Kintetsu Enterprises Company of America, the hotel will rise within The Park at Legacy development in Plano’s thriving business and entertainment district – home to major corporate campuses including Toyota Motor North America and 40 Japanese companies.
The groundbreaking was led with the participation of community and business leaders who gathered to welcome senior executives from Japan who traveled to North Texas for the celebration.
Among the many amenities announced thus far, the Miyako Hybrid Hotel Plano will feature a traditional Japanese restaurant showcasing authentic cuisine, an upscale lobby bar and Japanese bakery, a Texas-style rooftop bar, outdoor pool and fitness center. The eco-friendly design emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainability, will also offer versatile banquet and conference space.
The Beck Group is Construction Manager with Cumming Group as Owner’s Representative. Gensler is the Design Architect, and Looney & Associates is the interior design firm. Together, the team is creating a destination that reflects Kintetsu’s commitment to quality, sustainability and guest experience.
