A ribbon-cutting was held for Atrium Health’s new freestanding emergency department in Concord, North Carolina. The 11,021-square-foot project was built entirely using modular construction. The 10-bed facility was completed in less than 10 months.
The offsite construction method offers several advantages, including faster project timelines, improved quality control, reduced onsite workforce, reduced waste, and minimized site disruption. Because much of the work occurs simultaneously – site preparation and module fabrication – projects can often be completed more quickly than with traditional construction methods.
Robins & Morton was the general contractor for the project. Blox was the architect and manufacturer.
