Turner Construction Company has been awarded the contract for the Istanbul International Finance Center in Turkey, with an aim to further establish Istanbul as a global center for finance. The Istanbul International Finance Center is being developed by the Turkish Government to position the country as one of the world’s Top 10 economies. ‘Superflush’ Stress Test Performed on Texas Ranger’s Globe Life Field Plumbing System

With the help of hundreds of Arlington, Texas Independent School District students, contractors Manhattan Construction and TDIndustries performed a plumbing systems test – colloquially known as a Superflush test – on the Texas Rangers’ new Globe Life Field. The event is a stress test on an arena’s plumbing system. It ensures that sporting venues can handle maximum usage during critical windows, such as football halftimes, hockey intermissions or the seventh-inning stretch for baseball games. Responding to Opioids’ Impact on Construction Workers

The construction industry has been hit particularly hard by opioids, with state-level studies finding that construction workers are 6-7 times more likely to die of an opioid overdose than workers in other professions. CPWR is playing a leading role in helping the industry respond to this danger, including two new resources: Training program, intended to be used by experienced NABTU instructors, that is designed to increase awareness of opioids and decrease stigma associated with opioid use.
