The recently completed Long Beach Civic Center has been recognized by the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation’s Built by Women program. Women comprised 50% of the Design-Build team and played a significant role in the construction and delivery of the Long Beach Civic Center Project, located in California. The Built by Women program was created to recognize the significant but often overlooked work of women architects, landscape architects, urban designers, engineers, contractors and developers. Build-Out Adds Auditorium, Conference Space at Texas Children’s Hospital Research Institute

A two-floor build-out within the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital, has recently been completed by McCarthy Building Companies. The project included 32,000 square feet of auditorium and conference space to host research symposiums, scientific seminars and other programs featuring the world’s leading experts in genetics, neurology and neuroscience. Lift & Move USA Showcases Stadium Project for Students at CONEXPO-CON/AGG

More than 350 students from Clark County School District visited the Workforce Solutions area at the recent CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lift & Move USA featured an interactive presentation about the role of crane, rigging and specialized transportation operations in the construction of Allegiant Stadium, new home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion Reaches Milestone with Concrete Pour in New Exhibit Hall

Construction workers, on behalf of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, commenced the extensive process of pouring 600,000 square feet of concrete flooring in the main exhibit hall—located on a brownfield site once used as a parking lot—in the new West Hall expansion of Nevada’s Las Vegas Convention Center. The facility includes a three-story building with a 150-foot exterior canopy.
