The California Preservation Foundation 2019 Preservation Design Award for Technology and Craftsmanship was presented to Western Specialty Contractors for its role in conserving the Streamline Moderne facades of the Saban Building in Los Angeles, California. Autodesk, AGC to Address Custom-Fitting Safety Harnesses for Women
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, falls are the leading cause of private sector worker fatalities in the construction industry. Everyone who works at heights, whether it’s on a roof, scaffolding or the edge of a tall building, should have properly fitting safety harnesses, yet not all contractors have the supplies they need to better protect women in construction. First Students Welcomed at University of Colorado Boulder’s Newest, Largest Residence Hall
The new Williams Village East residence hall at the University of Colorado Boulder welcomed its first students for the fall 2019 semester. The 178,000-square-foot residence hall, the university’s largest, houses a total of 705 students. The $96.7-million residence hall was designed by KWK Architects as part of the Design-Build team, which also included architect-of-record alm2s and Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.
