Construction Industry Hiring and Business Outlook According to AGC

Many firms plan to start hiring again and most contractors predict demand will either grow or remain stable in virtually every market segment this year according to survey results released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Construction Materials Prices Rise 0.1% in December

Construction materials prices expanded 0.1 percent in December and are up 1.3 percent year over year, according to a Jan. 15 Producer Price Index released by the Department of Labor. $986M Bonding Bill Invests in Minnesota Infrastructure Improvements

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Gov. Mark Dayton introduced a bonding proposal that would invest $986 million in infrastructure projects statewide, creating more than 27,000 Minnesota jobs. Mortenson Opens Texas Office

Mortenson Construction is opening a new office in San Antonio, Texas. The new office will support the company's growing energy business, including key wind and solar projects in the state, high-voltage transmission and other operations. Mortenson plans to open its San Antonio office in the first half of 2014.
