PHOENIX, Ariz. — DPR Construction’s Phoenix regional office has been officially certified as a Net-Zero Energy Building by the International Living Future Institute through its Living Building Challenge program. Producing as much or more energy than it consumes, DPR’s Phoenix office is the largest building in the world and only the second in the United States to achieve NZEB certification to date. NASHVILLE, Tenn. —   Bell/Clark, a joint venture, has reached substantial completion at Music City Center, Nashville, Tenn.’s 2.1-million-square-foot downtown convention center. The $415-million facility, which is adjacent to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Bridgestone Arena, hosted a grand opening May 19-20. The convention center boasts a 350,000-square-foot exhibition hall acoustically designed to serve as a live music venue. The building, which spans three city blocks, also includes 59 meeting rooms, two ballrooms, 38 loading docks and a 1,900-vehicle parking garage. More than 350 volunteers joined Balfour Beatty Construction May 4, to repair and spruce up seven schools in the Redondo, Torrance, Culver City and Wiseburn School Districts as part of Los Angeles County's 10th Annual Sharefest Workday. WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced an initiative to further protect temporary employees from workplace hazards. The announcement was made during a program at the department's headquarters marking Workers" Memorial Day — an annual observance to honor workers who have died on the job and renew a commitment to making work sites across the country safer. DALLAS, Texas — Manhattan Construction has completed First Baptist Dallas’s landmark campus in downtown Dallas, Texas. The 500,000-square-foot facility includes a 3,000-seat worship center and sanctuary, with a 150-foot-wide viewing screen spanning two-thirds of the room and seven high-definition projectors making it one of the largest screens in any church in the world.
