University of Florida Wins 34th ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition
University of Florida won the 34th annual National Concrete Canoe Competition hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The Gators also won the competition in 2019 and, because the 2020 competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now stand as back-to-back winners. Twenty-two universities participated in the event, which was held virtually for the first time. NAWIC Philadelphia Foundation, NEST Partner to Bring Hands-On Construction Camp for Girls
Middle school and high school-aged girls from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area will attend a complimentary in-person construction camp this summer to provide real-world experience, mentorship and education about the opportunities that exist in the construction industry, regardless of gender. The camp is called MyWIC, which stands for Mentoring young Women In Construction, and will take place two days per week in Philadelphia between July 12 and Aug. 17.
