The Construction Industry Round Table has elected Deryl McKissack, president & CEO of McKissack & McKissack as 2024-25 chairwoman of the organization. She succeeds Henry Massman, CEO, Massman Construction. McKissack was elected during CIRT’s annual spring conference in Washington, D.C.
The Associated General Contractors of America released a decarbonization playbook designed to help firms assess, track and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for the projects they build. The new resource, titled The AGC Playbook on Decarbonization and Carbon Reporting in the Construction Industry, is part of the association’s broader efforts to make sure construction firms play a leading role in crafting carbon-reduction measures for the industry. This year’s class includes 23 firms from across the Mid-Atlantic that offer services ranging from utilities and excavation to electrical plumbing and HVAC. To participate, each firm is required to apply for the program, where they are evaluated on requirements similar to Gilbane’s prequalification process.
