SkillsUSA, the organization that represents the United States in the WorldSkills Competition, is sending 22 career and technical education competitors to Kazan, Russia, to compete in 20 skill categories during the 45th biennial event Aug. 22-27. The WorldSkills Competition showcases trade skills such as construction and building technology, manufacturing and engineering and transportation and logistics. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. OSHA Requests Information on Table 1 of Silica Standard for Construction

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is requesting information and comment on Table 1 of the agency’s Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard for Construction. OSHA seeks information on additional engineering and work practice control methods to effectively limit exposure to silica for the equipment and tasks currently listed on Table 1. The agency is also requesting information about other construction equipment and tasks that generate silica that it should consider adding to Table 1, along with information about their associated engineering and work practice control methods. Strong Man Safety Products has introduced a new distribution center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The 40,000-square-foot facility is complete with six docks and four drive-up ramps, allowing for efficient order fulfillment.
