ASCC Launches Sustainability Hotline

The American Society of Concrete Contractors has established a telephone hotline and an email address for the sole purpose of receiving and answering questions about concrete construction as it relates to the industry’s sustainability initiative. Both are for members only. Jim Klinger, ASCC concrete construction specialist, answers both, with input from other ASCC technical staff and consultants. The dedicated hotline and email are the efforts of ASCC’s Sustainability Committee, co-chaired by Bruce Suprenant, Ph.D., P.E., FACI, and Bev Garnant, HACI. BTEA Promotes Mental Health Awareness for Construction Suicide Prevention Week, September 4-8

The Building Trades Employers’ Association, representing 1,200 union contractors in New York, is working to raise awareness about the importance of mental wellness in the construction industry, noting that September 4-8 is Construction Suicide Prevention Week. September is also National Suicide Prevention Month, which also draws attention to treatment services available to people seeking help and assistance. NCCER Publishes Article on Contributing Factors to Superintendent Shortage

According to research, about 34,000 construction superintendent positions across the U.S. remain unfilled.
