Skanska USA has achieved substantial completion eight days early on the New D-Hall dining facility on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The dining hall officially opened with the fall semester in August. The more modern three-story, 101,000-square-foot building offers additional seating and entrances directly from the commons. It replaces the demolished Gibbons Hall, known on campus as D-Hall, built in the mid-1960s. NASA has selected Walsh Construction to build a new research support building at the agency’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The total potential value of this contract is approximately $32.7 million. The two-story, 64,000-square-foot building will house approximately 164 employees and include open office areas, private offices, conference rooms, collaborative engineering rooms and a cafeteria with supporting kitchen and dining spaces. Assembly of the mass timber components have begun on the state of Iowa’s first modern mass timber office building, 111 East Grand. The 66,800-square-foot, four-story multi-use building is located in the heart of the East Village of Des Moines. West Campus Housing Project at UTC Chattanooga Completes for Fall 2018 Semester

After a full year of planning and almost three years of building, Hoar Construction has completed the West Campus housing project on The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus. This dormitory has 225,000 square feet of residential space with 172 units and 233,000 square feet of parking with 680 more parking spaces for students.
