Ontario’s First Mass-Timber, Net-Zero Institutional Building Closer to Completion

Limberlost Place, Ontario, Canada’s first mass-timber, net-zero carbon emissions institutional building, has now reached the highest point in construction. The final wood and steel beams were installed in the 10-story facility located at George Brown College’s Waterfront campus in Toronto’s growing east Bayfront community. To celebrate the topping off milestone, project partners and the trades workforce signed a beam earlier this summer before it was lifted into place at the top of the building. Construction Milestone Reached on $456M Wisconsin Center Expansion

The Wisconsin Center District recently gathered with state and local leaders to celebrate the topping-off milestone for the expanded Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This achievement marks the completion of the steel structure of the expansion. Gilbane Building Company and C.D. Smith Construction, who have formed a joint venture as Gilbane | Smith Wisconsin Center Expansion, are the general contractors on the project. San Diego International Airport Administration Building Tops Out

The structural steel topping out of the new airport administration building at the San Diego International Airport (California) was recently celebrated with a ceremony, including the signing of the final steel beam, as well as a barbeque. UW-GU Health Partnership Celebrates ‘Topping Off’

A construction milestone was reached recently when the final structural beam was placed — topping off the building that will become the new home for the University of Washington School of Medicine-Gonzaga University Health Partnership’s medical and health education, research and innovation center, located in Washington. The new four-story, 90,000-square-foot building will feature classrooms, an anatomy suite, research labs and administrative offices. 11-Story Hotel Tower at Wild Horse Pass Tops Off

The new 11-story hotel tower at Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass, located in Chandler, Arizona, recently topped off. Sundt Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project. The new guest tower is a piece of the property’s $143-million expansion and renovation, and will connect to its existing hotel, doubling guestroom capacity.
