CHICAGO, Ill. – In its first real estate development project in Chicago, Illinois, Mortenson has teamed up with lead developer Akara Partners to design and build a $67-million extended stay hotel in River North. The hotel is being designed by Norr Architects under a Design-Build arrangement with Mortenson for the 17-story, 206-room Home2 Suites by Hilton. CHICAGO, Ill. – Marriott Marquis Chicago recently opened its doors to guests, providing conventioneers and visitors to Chicago, Illinois’ South Loop with a new option for hotel accommodations. The anticipated addition to the McCormick Square campus brings additional hotel space to the community surrounding McCormick Place, the nation’s largest convention center. Clark Construction Group, lead member of the Design-Build joint venture team Prairie District3 Partners, partnered with the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority to deliver the $350-million hotel, support structures and campus improvements. C.W. Driver Companies Breaks Ground on $17.9M Library

C.W. Driver Companies broke ground on the $17.9-million construction of the new Mission Hills-Hillcrest Harley & Bessie Knox Public Library, located in San Diego, California. The 14,000-square-foot, one-story structure will be nearly four times the size of the old library, and will be constructed on the site of the old International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers building located at 925 West Washington St. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018. Just in time for students returning to school in the fall, projects included construction of the new Brookview Elementary School, as well as a ninth-grade addition and new athletic complex at Stillwater High School.
