Sundt Completes Lab Renovations at California State University

CAMARILLO, Calif. – Sundt Construction, Inc. recently completed a $2.4-million laboratory renovation at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo. Designed to accommodate the needs of the university’s biology and chemistry departments, the Design-Build project included installation and reconfiguration of casework, fume hoods, mechanical and electrical systems, and equipment within four existing dry laboratories inside the campus’s Aliso Hall building. The Aliso Hall renovation is one of three projects Sundt has been contracted to build on the CI campus. The Korte Company will begin construction on a 100,000-square-foot Design-Build warehouse facility within America’s Central Port, located in Madison, Illinois, just five miles north of downtown St. Louis. The tilt-up structure, located at the region’s only full-service, public intermodal port, will include warehouse and office space for a private tenant. SYLMAR, Calif. – Tutor Perini Corporation’s subsidiary, Tutor Perini Building Corp., has been awarded a contract valued at $285 million by the Pechanga Development Corporation and has commenced work on the expansion of the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California. Ida Crown Jewish Academy Opens in Illinois

CHICAGO, Ill. – Lendlease recently celebrated the opening of Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Skokie, Illinois. Lendlease successfully served as the construction manager for the new 90,000-square-foot school. Located in the former Rand McNally headquarters built in the early 1950s, the existing building was once used as a corporate headquarters and printing facility for the famous mapmaker. Working in a partnership with Ida Crown Jewish Academy, Project Management Advisors and Amstadter Architects, Lendlease implemented an adaptive reuse construction strategy that included the reuse of as much of the existing structure as possible rather than demolishing and building anew.
