The headquarters for Doheny Eye Institute, affiliated with UCLA Stein Eye Institute, is now open. Located at the former Avery Dennison campus, the new life science research center is dedicated to the conservation, improvement and restoration of human eyesight. Monthly Construction Input Prices Dip, But Are Up 17% From a Year Ago, Says ABC

Construction input prices decreased 1.4% in August compared to the previous month, according to the Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices fell 1.4% for the month, as well. Construction input prices are up 16.7% from a year ago, while nonresidential construction input prices are 16.3% higher. Input prices were up in six of 11 subcategories on a monthly basis. Ware Malcomb announced that construction is complete on Bellevue Brewery in Bellevue, Washington. Ware Malcomb provided interior architecture and design services for the project. The 7,353-square-foot interior renovation includes a brewery, restaurant and commercial kitchen. The décor within the space pays tribute to the local area with reclaimed Douglas fir wood salvaged from historical buildings, such as a University of Washington police station and a covered bridge in Sweet Home, Oregon.
