DPR Construction marked the topping out of the Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital expansion project in Wildomar, California. The new seven-story, 290,000-square-foot patient tower will accommodate 102 beds to support Riverside County’s growing population. The campus will be equipped with clinical technologies for minimally invasive procedures and advanced therapies, and sustainable infrastructure including energy-efficient LED fixtures and solar panels. As a designated Trauma Center in Southwest Riverside County, the existing healthcare campus has remained fully operational throughout construction. Construction employment increased in 45 states and the District of Columbia in July from a year earlier, while 27 states added construction employees from June to July, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Association officials said recent job gains would be more widespread if government officials helped more people prepare for construction careers. PCL Construction Completes Minnesota Zoo Treetop Trail

The Minnesota Zoo Treetop Trail is officially open to the public. Located in Apple Valley, construction began in May of 2022. Built by PCL Construction, the project consisted of repurposing the zoo’s old monorail track to make the 1.25-mile elevated walking path, rising to 32 feet above ground at the highest point. The new visitor attraction will be the world’s longest elevated pedestrian loop and will become the centerpiece of the zoo’s vision to reconnect its guests with nature. The construction industry added 19,000 jobs in July even as the sector’s unemployment rate increased, according to an analysis of new government data the Associated General Contractors of America released. Association officials noted that tight labor conditions are bringing more previously employed construction workers back into the job market as firms continue to boost pay levels.
