Construction work wrapped up on an 86,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care facility in the Hollingsworth Park area of Verdae, a master planned community in Greenville, South Carolina. Frampton Construction Company, LLC, provided planning and design support, preconstruction and construction services on the project. With 68 assisted living and 33 memory care suites in a range of flexible floor plans, the Blake at Hollingsworth Park also features a movie theater, salon, dining room, activity room, physical therapy clinic and two enclosed courtyards for residents to enjoy. Nonresidential Construction Employment Expands in September, Says ABC

The construction industry added 26,000 jobs on net in September, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released recently by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. During the last five months, the industry has added 689,000 jobs, recovering approximately 64% of the jobs lost since the start of the pandemic. Nonresidential construction employment added 4,000 jobs on net in September. Two subsegments, nonresidential building and nonresidential specialty trade, experienced employment gains, adding 5,300 and 2,100 jobs, respectively. Annual Common Ground Alliance DIRT Report Reveals Utility Damages Continue Upward Trend

Common Ground Alliance announced the findings from its 2019 Damage Information Reporting Tool Report. The report analyzed all 2019 data submitted voluntarily by facility operators, utility locating companies, one call centers, contractors, regulators and others from the U.S. and Canada using an in-depth statistical modeling process. The results of this analysis found that an estimated 532,000 excavation-related damages to underground facilities occurred in the U.S. in 2019, a 4.5% increase compared to the 2018 estimate of 509,000 damages.
