Ed White has been promoted to president at TDIndustries. In his new role, he will have oversight of Arizona, as well as three North Texas-based business units. He will also join TD’s Executive Leadership Team. White holds many business licenses including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, process piping and solar. Construction Employment Increases in 40 States, D.C. from July 2018 to July 2019

Forty states added construction jobs between July 2018 and July 2019, while construction employment increased in 25 states from June to July, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department data. Expanding its portfolio of work in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, BNBuilders recently completed tenant improvements for the County of Orange Probation Department, located in Laguna Hills, California. The $3.6-million project is one of the firm’s recent and upcoming projects in the region. For the County of Orange, BNBuilders completed tenant improvements to an existing 13,286-square-foot, one-story building on a 50,041-square-foot lot. Construction Input Prices Rebound in July, Says ABC

Construction input prices expanded 0.8% in July but are down 0.6% year-over-year, according to a recently released Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices also increased 0.8% for the month but have declined 0.3% on a year-ago basis. Much of the year-over-year decline can be explained by plummeting energy prices, including crude petroleum (-20.3%), natural gas (-31%) and unprocessed energy materials (20.9%). The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is requesting information and comment on Table 1 of the agency’s Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard for Construction. OSHA seeks information on additional engineering and work practice control methods to effectively limit exposure to silica for the equipment and tasks currently listed on Table 1.
