TDIndustries recently earned two Associated Builders and Contractors’ awards at the 29th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration. The contractor earned an Eagle Excellence in Construction Award for its work on the Texas Health Resources Recovery and Wellness Center in Mansfield, Texas. The award is the greatest possible honor for a specialty construction project, with this entry coming in the under-$10 million category. JE Dunn Construction Delivers Advanced Parking, Ground Transportation Center for Nashville International Airport

JE Dunn Construction has completed a $102-million, technology-integrated parking and ground transportation center and related improvements at Nashville International Airport in Tennessee. The new center is a component of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s BNA Vision, a $1.2-billion expansion and renovation plan to accommodate regional population growth and the airport’s record-breaking passenger increases. The new parking and transportation center project was completed under budget, and features a six-level, 2,200-space garage equipped with parking guidance which includes sensors to direct drivers to open parking spaces. Construction Sees Minor Job Growth in March, Says ABC

The construction industry added 16,000 net new jobs in March, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment is up 246,000 jobs, representing a 3.4% increase. Nonresidential employment added 3,200 net new jobs last month, with the bulk of growth among nonresidential specialty contractors, which added 5,500 net new jobs. Heavy and civil engineering added 600 jobs, while the nonresidential building category lost 2,900 positions.
