Modjeski and Masters to Lead Inspection, Load Capacity Ratings of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Modjeski and Masters has been selected for the 2018 Biennial Inspection of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge from the Delaware River Port Authority. This historic structure features a 1,750-foot main suspended span and is over 9,500 feet in total length. As the prime consultant for this contract, Modjeski and Masters will perform a close visual hands-on inspection of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge facility in 2018. Washington University School of Medicine on BJC Healthcare Campus Undergoes $4M Facelift

Kadean Construction has completed a $4-million renovation for the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis’s (Missouri) Department of Anesthesiology at the BJC Healthcare campus. The builder completed the 20,700-square-foot project, which included construction of 96 doctors’ offices in the historic Peters Building, near Euclid and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Way, in the city’s Central West End. The project, which took roughly six months to complete, required gutting two floors and constructing new private and shared offices, along with conference and support space for anesthesiologists and other physicians. The National Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction: March 21 Webinar

Falls are the top cause of construction fatalities and account for one-third of on-the-job injuries and deaths in the industry. In 2012, CPWR, NIOSH and OSHA together launched a national construction fall prevention campaign. OSHA Launches Regional Campaign to Raise Awareness of Construction Industry Hazards

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched a regional campaign to raise awareness about the four leading safety hazards in the construction industry. The “Focus Four Hazards” campaign will serve employers and employees in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. From March through June, the campaign will educate employers to recognize, evaluate and control electrical, struck-by, fall and caught-in/between hazards.
