Construction Begins on Expansion Project at Huron Regional Medical Center

Kraus-Anderson has begun a $13-million expansion project at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron, South Dakota. Designed by Wold HFR Design, the 7,500-square-foot addition will feature four new operating rooms, staff lockers and a lounge. The project also includes an 11,581-square-foot renovation of the existing operating room suite, endoscopy rooms and pre and post operating rooms, along with a new 19,081-square-foot a sterile processing area and support spaces. RNGD joined a group of civic leaders and guests at a May 21 ceremony commemorating the topping out of the new 223 Washington office building under construction in downtown Huntsville. This traditional construction milestone takes place as the final beam—signed by members of the project team—is hoisted onto the building to signify that the structure has reached its maximum height. ABC: Construction Adds 15,000 Jobs in June

The construction industry added 15,000 jobs on net in June, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis’ of data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has increased by 121,000 jobs, or 1.5%. Nonresidential construction employment expanded by 9,200 positions on net, with growth registered in just 1 of 3 major subcategories. Nonresidential specialty trade added 12,400 jobs, while heavy and civil engineering and nonresidential building lost 2,800 and 400 jobs, respectively. Swinerton Builders, a commercial general contractor, has announced the build-out of Dole Food Company’s new US headquarters in the One South building in Uptown Charlotte. The office construction project is expected to be completed this fall, with construction currently underway. Dole’s new US headquarters occupies the entire sixth floor of One South, a 40-story Class-A office tower. The international company is relocating from an office building just one block away, which it has occupied since moving to Charlotte from California in 2019. Cameratta Companies Begins Development of Kingston Community in Estero

Cameratta Companies has started construction on the new Kingston community that will span in total over 6,702 acres. The first portion of the land to be developed is approximately 2,700 acres of property.
