MCLEAN, Va. – Christopher Payne, PE, CCM, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MBP, became chair of the Construction Management Association of America at the association’s National Conference and Trade Show in Washington, D.C. Haselden Construction Opens North Regional Office in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Haselden’s North Regional office, located at 330 South College Ave. in Fort Collins, Colorado, officially opened last month. Fort Collins Mayor Wade Troxell attended the grand opening and performed the ribbon cutting. The 1,750-square-foot office houses half a dozen team members, with more using it on a temporary basis, depending on the project they’re working on. Ground Broken on Brooklyn Multi-Unit Property
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Kalikow Group has broken ground on 2415 Church Avenue, a $29-million, 67-unit rental residential building in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Preliminary work began on the site in September. The Siegel Group, WRS Associates and the Ishay Group are joint owners of the property. Nonresidential Construction Spending Stabilizes in August
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nonresidential construction spending expanded .5 percent in August, totaling $691.8 billion on a seasonally adjusted, annualized basis, according to an analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau by Associated Builders and Contractors. Though this represents an improvement from July’s total ($688.2 billion), nonresidential spending remains 3.4 percent below its year-ago level and is down 3.8 percent from the cyclical peak attained in May 2017. Spending levels expanded in 10 of the 16 nonresidential construction subsectors in August on a monthly basis.
