Steel Erector, Design Organizations Collaborate to Improve Steel Erector Certification Requirements
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Steel Erectors Association of America and the American Institute of Steel Construction have worked together to draft a reciprocal indemnity agreement and revise the additional insured language as part of AISC’s Certified Steel Erector program requirements. The reciprocal indemnity and revised additional insured language is mutually beneficial to both AISC and steel erectors participating in the Certified Steel Erector program. “Before, the indemnification clause only protected AISC; now it goes both ways, with each party indemnifying each other,” explained Mark Trimble, AISC’s vice president of certification. Mortenson, Akara Partners Team Up on Home2 Suites by Hilton
CHICAGO, Ill. – In its first real estate development project in Chicago, Illinois, Mortenson has teamed up with lead developer Akara Partners to design and build a $67-million extended stay hotel in River North. The hotel is being designed by Norr Architects under a Design-Build arrangement with Mortenson for the 17-story, 206-room Home2 Suites by Hilton. Construction Spending Increases in Most Categories from July to August, Mixed Year-Over-Year Changes
Most major construction spending categories increased from July to August but activity was mixed compared to spending levels a year earlier, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Louisiana Companies Host Crane and Heavy Transport Careers Event
BATON ROUGE, La. – Deep South Crane & Rigging and Berard will co-host a one-day careers event for students and veterans from 9 a.m. to 2 p. m. on Nov. 15 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as part of a national careers initiative through Lift & Move USA.
