Mortenson Selected to Transform Science Building into State-of-the-Art Performing Arts Center

CHICAGO, Ill. – Mortenson Construction is launching a major building project on the Wheaton College campus in Wheaton, Illinois, to create a state-of-the art performing arts center. In the $18 million first phase of the project, Mortenson is rebuilding the three stories and basement of a gutted 50,000-square-foot former science building into the new home for the school’s Conservatory of Music. Over 30 States Add Construction Jobs Year Over Year November 2015, 2016

Thirty-four states added construction jobs between November 2015 and November 2016 while construction employment increased in 29 states and the District of Columbia during the past month, according to an analysis of Labor Department data recently released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Brasfield & Gorrie Breaks Ground on New Office Tower Along Atlanta Beltline

Brasfield & Gorrie recently joined developer New City Properties, as well as Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, City Council Member Kwanza Hall, Atlanta BeltLine Inc. and others to mark the start of work on the new 725 Ponce development in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. A 12-story mixed-use tower, 725 Ponce will feature Class A loft office space above an urban prototype Kroger and a three-level, below-grade parking deck. Designed with industrial character, the project will face Atlanta’s Beltline and will feature roof-top terraces with views of the Historic Fourth Ward Park, Ponce City Market and the Atlanta skyline.

Gilbane Celebrates Ribbon Cutting, Grand Opening for Ohlone College Soccer Field

FREMONT, Calif. – Representatives from Ohlone College, Gilbane Building Company and other local officials were on hand for the recent dedication and ribbon cutting for the new Ohlone College Soccer Field in California, located on the Fremont campus on Mission Boulevard. Gilbane Building Company was the construction manager for the project.
