Architecture Billings Index Moderates Slightly, Remains Positive

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Architecture Billings Index was positive in July for the sixth consecutive month, and tenth out of the last twelve months as demand across all project types continued to increase. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate 9-12-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects reported the July ABI score was 51.5, down from the mark of 52.6 in the previous month. ABC, AIA and NAHB Economists Predict Industry Growth Through 2017

Nonresidential Construction Growth on Pace with Strong July Jobs Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. construction industry has rebounded strongly, adding 14,000 net new jobs in July according to an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data recently released by Associated Builders and Contractors. This gain comes after the construction sector lost a combined 27,000 jobs from April to June. The construction industry’s unemployment rate inched lower in July, shedding a tenth of a percentage point to reach 4.5 percent, the industry’s lowest unemployment rate since October 2006. BNBuilders Awarded Renovation at San Diego Hall of Justice

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – BNBuilders has recently been awarded the County of San Diego’s Hall of Justice interior renovation contract. This is one of three recent San Diego County construction manager-at-risk contracts awarded to BNBuilders’ San Diego, California office. Located at 330 West Broadway in downtown San Diego, the project is immediately south of the new San Diego Central Courthouse, and connected to the new high-rise via a pedestrian bridge.
