BOSTON, Mass. – Lendlease was recently selected to provide construction management services for Pfizer’s new biologics clinical manufacturing facility in Andover, Massachusetts. On June 16, Pfizer broke ground for the 175,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that will enable the production of high-quality, complex biologics and vaccines. The new clinical manufacturing facility is designed with five independent manufacturing suites to support Pfizer’s highly complex and diverse biologics research effort. Hilton Grand Islander Project Tops Out

Hensel Phelps’ Hilton Grand Islander project recently commemorated the topping out of the 38-story concrete structure in Waikiki, Hawaii. Representatives from Hilton Worldwide, Blackstone Investment Group and the project design team joined with more than 500 members of the construction team to celebrate the occasion with a barbecue. Sitting only a block off the beach, the 375-foot structure is a defining part of the iconic Waikiki skyline. May Construction Starts Rise 5 Percent

NEW YORK, N.Y. – At a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $636.7 billion, new construction starts in May increased 5 percent from April, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. Much of the growth came from the non-building construction sector (public works and electric utilities), which was lifted by a $3.8-billion oil pipeline in the upper Midwest, as well as by seven power plant projects with a combined cost of $4.3 billion. McCarthy to Build Southwest Airlines’ New Facility

DALLAS, Texas – McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. recently won the award to build Southwest Airlines’ new office and training facility on the company’s corporate campus in Dallas, Texas. The new building, called “Wings”, consists of a 414,000-square-foot office building and an attached 367,000-square-foot flight training center which will house 18 flight simulator bays, associated offices and ancillary areas.
