Gilbane Completes Wa She Shu Casino Project in Nevada

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. – Gilbane Building Company has been completed construction on the Wa She Shu Casino Project in Gardnerville, Nevada. The casino was officially opened on May 26 and sits beside the recently opened Washoe Travel Plaza, which was another Gilbane project for the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California that was opened in February. The casino project consists of approximately 14,530 square feet of space and includes the gaming floor, back of house facilities, restaurant and bar, loading dock and receiving area and kitchen space for food preparation. Turner Construction Begins Renovating Boulder High School

Turner Construction Company’s Special Projects Division has begun a significant renovation of Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado. Originally constructed in 1937, the 246,000-square-foot facility will undergo a series of interior, exterior and site improvements. Interior improvements include renovations to the backstage area and dressing rooms, band area, kitchen, cafeteria and restrooms. The project also includes the repair/replacement of interior doors, HVAC, communications systems and fixtures such as casework and stage rigging. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated a construction milestone on the new AvidXchange corporate headquarters building in Charlotte, North Carolina. A topping out ceremony marked the placement of the final steel beams for the new 200,000-square-foot, six-story office building on the AvidXchange Music Factory campus developed by Red Rock Developments. The AvidXchange Music Factory is an entertainment complex in Uptown that features bars, restaurants, music venues and office space. Construction Spending Posts Solid Monthly, Year-Over-Year Increases in March

Construction spending increased by 8 percent in March compared to a year earlier and was also up slightly between February and March amid growing demand for many types of construction, as the spending total hit the highest level since October 2007, according to a recent analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America.
