POMONA, Calif. – Sundt Construction, Inc. was recently selected as the collaborative Design-Build contractor for Phase 1 of a first-year student housing replacement project at California State Polytechnic University Pomona. Teaming with HMC Architects, Brailsford & Dunlavey and Ehrlich Architects, Sundt will develop up to three buildings totaling 305,000 square feet and housing 980 student beds. Skanska Awarded $94-M Construction Contract for Irving Music Factory
Skanska has signed a contract with the ARK Group to build the Irving Music Factory in Las Colinas, Texas and will include $94 million in order bookings for Skanska USA in the first quarter 2016. Skanska will convert the 16.8-acre greenfield site into a world-class entertainment destination. It will include an 8,000-seating capacity indoor/outdoor concert hall called the Pavillion, operated by the world’s largest concert promoter, Live Nation. Report Expects Chicago to Lead in 2016 Construction Cost Increases
CHICAGO, Ill. – After construction costs increased 4.6 percent in 2015, the Chicago, Illinois non-residential construction market can expect costs to rise 3.5 percent to 4 percent in 2016, according to Mortenson Construction’s Construction Cost Index for Chicago.
