South Carolina Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for Justice-Involved Youth Tops Out

South Carolina’s new psychiatric residential treatment facility for justice-involved youth in Columbia, South Carolina has topped out. This effort was led by the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities’ Office of Mental Health, along with Construction Manager Agent Services from LCK. Project teammates placed the uppermost steel beam on the roof level of the one-story facility in addition to substantially completing the building’s structure. Once complete, the 24,000-square-foot facility will provide critical mental health and rehabilitation services for youth committed to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice, who have significant psychiatric treatment needs. Construction crews began building the structure that will one day be Henry Ford Health’s new hospital in Detroit, Michigan. The project to reimagine Henry Ford Hospital began in 2024 and will add 1.2 million square feet – including a vastly expanded emergency department – to the campus. After months of foundation work, including the digging and construction of 82 caissons, crews recently began installing steel beams with a 260-foot crane.
