Brasfield & Gorrie Reaches Construction Milestone at New Medical School

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Brasfield & Gorrie announced the company recently celebrated a construction milestone at the new Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine campus in Auburn, Alabama. A topping out ceremony was held on Oct. 2 to mark the recent structural completion of the facility, which is located on a 15-acre site in Auburn University's Research Park. The new facility will house programs from VCOM at Auburn. The $20-million project includes a new 92,000-square-foot, four-story building that will include classrooms, small-group learning rooms, laboratories and a technology center. U.S. Tall Wood Building Prize Competition Open for Entries

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Softwood Lumber Board and the Binational Softwood Lumber Council congratulated the U.S. Department of Agriculture on the formal launch of the U.S. Tall Wood Building Prize Competition. The competition invites U.S. developers, institutions, organizations and design teams willing to undertake an alternative solution approach to designing and building taller wood structures to submit entries for a prize of $2 million. Tocci Building Companies Spearheaded Construction Management of Greentown Labs Renovation

WOBURN, Mass. — Tocci Building Companies recently completed a 10,000-square-foot lab fitout for Greentown Labs, an incubation space for energy technology start-up companies located in Somerville, Massachusetts. Tocci worked with architects Robert Luchetti Associates and engineers Zade Associates to create additional incubator lab space for four subtenants: Zed/Transocean, Open Water Power, Quantum Diamond and Dynamo Micropower.
