Construction Employment Update According to AGC

Construction firms added jobs in 34 states over the past 12 months, but construction employment declined in 32 states and the District of Columbia between November and December as many parts of the country coped with weather, according to an analysis released today by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department data. Illinois Constructors Complete Norfolk Southern Railroad Superstructure Bridge in Delaware, Ohio

CHICAGO, Ill. — Bridge work is completed and on time for the Norfolk Southern Railroad superstructure bridge project over the Olentangy River north of Delaware, Ohio by Illinois Constructors. The reconstruction involved a 400-foot, four-span bridge with two tracks and included a bridge raising to allow for a new closed deck timber bridge. Each track bridge required removal and was replaced during a seven-day track outage that was planned before the launch of the site work.     The detailed project plan was created and approved six weeks prior to the outage. Equipment Lease Finance Industry Confidence Much Higher in January

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation has released the January 2014 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry. Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $827-billion equipment finance sector.
