A facility in Ohio that was formerly a hospital for Shriner’s has been transformed into the Blood Cancer Healing Center, a new space for patients served by the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. The existing masonry façade has been sealed and restored, preserving the building’s historical integrity while ensuring modern functionality. The facility offers every aspect of care — from inpatient and outpatient services to survivorship, integrative medicine, spiritual support and cutting-edge research — all under one roof. Formation Interests, Crescent Real Estate, Willmeng Construction and the city of Goodyear, Arizona came together for the groundbreaking ceremony of Formation Park 10. FThis is the first project outside of Texas for Formation, a development and investment company based in Dallas. Phase 1 of Formation Park 10 consists of 427,000 square feet across two buildings and includes a large park to serve as an amenity for future tenants and the surrounding community. Formation CEO Adam Herrin said his company chose the Goodyear site for the proximity to freeways, surrounding amenities and the potential for growth in the area. Rosendin Completes Work on SFO’s New Harvey Milk Terminal
The Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Center at San Francisco International Airport in California has been completed by Rosendin. The contractor was the Technology Systems Design-Builder and Systems Integrator on the multiphase $2.4B renovation, including designing and constructing a central concourse, pre- and post-security checkpoints, and ticketing and baggage handling system. Rosendin’s role included designing, constructing, integrating and commissioning several key technology systems to modernize the terminal. These include passenger-focused systems, such as high-speed Wi-Fi internet access throughout the terminal, a Neutral Host Distributed Antenna System extending cellular services and dynamic wayfinding systems with large video walls. New Report Details Federal Funding Gap For Workforce Prep Despite Persistent Labor Needs
Only one-fifth of federal investments in postsecondary education support workforce development for fields like construction and manufacturing, while the rest of the money goes to “traditional” degree programs according to a new report on federal workforce funding levels. The report, produced by the Progressive Policy Institute, the Associated General Contractors of America and Procore, notes this funding gap is making it hard for many employers to find qualified workers to hire. The report, titled Building a Stronger Workforce: Federal Spending on Postsecondary Education and Training, notes that of the $139.5 billion the federal government spends annually on postsecondary education, only $28.2 billion goes to workforce education and training programs.
