Stephanie Schmidt-Lehmann has been named executive vice president of industry relations and member value at Associated Builders and Contractors. In this role, Schmidt-Lehmann will bring leadership, vision and strategic thinking to ensure the association’s delivers on its value proposition for its 68 chapters, 22,000 member companies and the overall construction industry. Schmidt-Lehmann will develop programs and services that help ABC members win and deliver work safely, ethically and profitably while creating and deploying an effective business development strategy. Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health to meet Feb. 21-22 in Washington

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has scheduled a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health for 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 22. Construction Complete on VA Clinic at Olympia Fields in Wisconsin

Wangard Partners and Kraus-Anderson have completed construction on the VA (Veterans Affairs) healthcare clinic at Olympia Fields in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The 9,991-square-foot medical clinic will be leased by the Veterans Health Administration and operated by the Clement Z. Zablocki VA Health Care System. Designed by Plunkett Raysich Architects, the new facility features new reception and waiting areas, conference rooms, exam rooms, primary care, women’s health services, mental health services, consultation rooms and telehealth, staff lounge and team workrooms. New Quarterly Cost Report Charts Construction Trends

International property and construction consultancy firm Rider Levett Bucknall has released its latest Quarterly Cost Report, providing a perspective on the North American construction industry in 14 key markets. With data from mid-Q4 2023, the latest RLB quarterly cost report shows the national average increase in construction costs was 1.32% over the previous quarter, with Boston, Chicago, Honolulu, Portland, Seattle and Washington, D.C. experiencing increases over the national average this quarter.
