The National Academy of Construction recently inducted William W. (Bill) Brown, chairman emeritus, Ben Hur Construction Company and co-chair of Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust, into its class of 2019 during a ceremony at the recently held NAC annual meeting. More than 300 construction industry leaders were considered in selecting 39 prominent leaders for the 2019 class. The Design-Build Institute of America announces its 2019 Design-Build Project/Team Award Winners, including the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino Expansion, located in Phoenix, Arizona, which has received a National Design-Build Merit Award in the Rehabilitation/Renovation/Restoration category. Kennedy Bridge Manhattan Approach Ramps Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project (RK-23) in New York City. Winners Announced for Steel Erectors Association of America Annual Competition

An independent panel of judges on behalf of the Steel Erectors Association of America selected three steel construction projects for the association’s annual Projects of the Year. Teams from Gardner-Watson Decking (Class I for erection contracts up to $500,000), Buckner Companies (Class III above $1 million to $2.5 million) and J.P. Cullen & Sons (Class IV over $2.5 million) were honored at SEAA’s 2018 Annual Convention, held in April. Note: No awards were granted in the Class II category ($500,000 to $1 million) for 2017.
