Staff at M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota have faced a 5% rise in inpatient visits and a 12% increase in ED visits since 2022. With limited space, and a commitment to improve patient care while visits are only expected to grow, St. John’s staff improved patient flow by expanding the emergency department, reorganizing existing services and – now – opening a new short-stay and observation unit. The Boldt Company has achieved a safety milestone: logging 10-million hours without a lost time incident. Safety statistics are reported from the company’s jobsites nationwide and represent self-performed work hours across diverse geographies and projects. Leaders credit operational practices that ensure all employees are educated on safe work practices, work crews have appropriate equipment, and frequent jobsite audits uncover potential problems.
