Big-D Construction Completes BYU-Idaho Central Energy Facility Project

REXBURG, Idaho – Big-D Construction recently reached completion on the BYU-Idaho Central Energy Facility located in Rexburg, Idaho. The new 28,000-square-foot building, on which construction began in 2013, has allowed BYU-Idaho to replace its coal-fired boilers with natural gas-fired boilers. The original heating plant, in operation since 1963, had reached the end of its usable life span. The new facility was built adjacent to what was the existing heating plant.
