ABC Presents Awards at 29th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards Celebration
TDIndustries recently earned two Associated Builders and Contractors’ awards at the 29th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration. The contractor earned an Eagle Excellence in Construction Award for its work on the Texas Health Resources Recovery and Wellness Center in Mansfield, Texas. The award is the greatest possible honor for a specialty construction project, with this entry coming in the under-$10 million category. TEXO recently honored TDIndustries with two 2019 Distinguished Building Awards, one for TD’s work on Frost Tower in Fort Worth, Texas, and the second for Texas Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Frisco, Texas. TD earned the Scottish Rite award in the $10-million-plus Mechanical 3 category, and Frost Tower in the $5-10 million Mechanical 2 group. U of A Student Success District Project Designed to Encourage Seamless Transition between Spaces
Sundt Construction, Inc. recently started construction on the University of Arizona Student Success District in Tucson, Arizona. The project will transform the main library, the science-engineering library and bear down gym, while adding a new four-story student success building into an interconnected district, which will provide indoor and outdoor spaces. The new district will encourage students to move seamlessly between spaces that provide a full range of services and expertise, allowing them to reach their academic and career goals. Groundbreaking Marks Construction Start on Great Lakes Naval Station Project
Clark Construction, joint venture partner Blinderman Construction and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command celebrated the start of work at the P-714 Unaccompanied Housing Project with a groundbreaking ceremony. The Design-Build project, located at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago, Illinois, will feature a new 166,000-square-foot barracks capable of housing more than 600 enlisted military personnel. Opened in 1911, the NSGL is the Navy’s largest training installation and the home of the Navy’s only Boot Camp. Clark/Blinderman will construct the facility with laundry rooms on each floor, a dayroom/multi-purpose room, lounges, computerized classrooms and a vending/kitchen area.
