MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Turner Construction Company is beginning the first phase of a $10.6-million expansion and renovation of the University of Memphis’ athletic training facility on its Park Avenue campus in Tennessee. The project is the first phase of the indoor football practice facility, which will expand the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex by 25,000 square feet and includes the renovation of adjacent areas within the complex, which are used for training by the university’s football and other collegiate sports teams. Just in time for the start of second-semester classes, College of Lake County finished moving into a completely remodeled C Wing, which marked the final phase of Mortenson Construction’s multi-year, $50-million renovation and expansion project at the school’s main Grayslake, Illinois campus. Skanska USA has been awarded a $68-million contract to complete the Virginia Tech Carilion Biomedical Research Addition, a 140,000-square-foot building on the Virginia Tech Carilion Health Sciences and Technology Campus in Roanoke, Virginia.
