University of Virginia stakeholders and faculty recently celebrated the groundbreaking on the expansion project for UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce, located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The celebration included site tours to view demolition and historic preservation efforts, as well as a ceremony that featured remarks from university leaders. DPR Construction is serving as general contractor on the project. IWR North America Performs Restoration Work on Trump International Hotel

IWR North America, formerly IWR Building Systems, recently completed work on the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. IWR-NA was brought on as a specialty contractor to perform restoration work associated with the exterior enclosure upgrades as part of the renovation. LOUIS, Mo. – Busy traffic, a steady flow of visitors and unique materials were among the challenges Western Specialty Contractors faced when it restored the stone façade of Charleston, Illinois’ historic Coles County Courthouse. Located in the public square in central Charleston and housing most of Coles County’s important administrative offices and courts, the courthouse is one busy facility.     With the Menokin Glass House project, the Skanska team is taking a unique approach to preserving the ruins of the house of Francis Lightfoot Lee, one of the seven signers of the Declaration of Independence from Virginia. The Menokin house was built in 1769 and was designated as a historical landmark in 1971 for its significance. It sits on a 500-acre property along the shoreline of the Chesapeake Gateway. ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Overlooking the shore of Corpus Christi Bay in Corpus Christi, Texas, stands the historic First United Methodist Church with its towering steeple and monument to Jesus.
