New offices and an administrative building for the German Parliament will be built on one of Berlin’s most historic streets by the end of 2026 to replace the demolished building. The sustainable concept envisages the use of alternative energies, such as geothermal energy and photovoltaics. PORR was awarded the contract as general contractor for the project by the Institute for Federal Real Estate. Working in partnership with New College Durham, the £1.7-million project will see a change of use refurbishment delivered to create a specialized teaching facility for trade subjects. Ferrovial, in consortium with Galician construction company Oreco Balgón, has completed construction of the Halo elevator in Vigo, northwestern Spain, which connects the city’s Areal district with the shopping area around Vialia square. This functional infrastructure, which has been inaugurated recently, improves mobility by providing pedestrians with a means of crossing the AP-9 highway, formerly a barrier, and enabling them to access the train and bus stations.
