RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Skanska and Mid-Coast Transit Contractors – a joint venture of Stacy and Witbeck, Herzog and Skanska – has been awarded a $921.8-million construction manager/general contractor contract from the San Diego Association of Governments to construct the Mid-Coast Trolley in San Diego, California. The Mid-Coast Trolley will extend existing service from the Old Town Transit Center to the University City community, serving major activity centers such as the Mission Bay area, the VA Medical Center, the UC San Diego and Westfield UTC Transit Center. Austin-Sundt JV Completes $316M Airport Rental Car Center

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Austin-Sundt, a joint venture between Austin Commercial and Sundt Construction, Inc., along with the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, recently celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the $316-million San Diego International Airport consolidated rental car center in California. Austin-Sundt served as the construction manager at risk for the project, which enabled the airport to shift rental car operations to a centralized location on the north side of San Diego International Airport. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia, recently awarded Hourigan-Sundt, a joint venture of Hourigan Construction and Sundt Construction, Inc., a $36-million contract to design, construct and renovate an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Consolidated Operations Complex at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 150,000-square-foot project will provide space for operations, logistics, storage and administrative support facilities. The design phase is underway, with construction scheduled to begin in mid-2016. Completion is anticipated in October 2018.
