New Data Bulletin, Data Dashboards Focus on Construction Worker Health

The January 2022 issue of CPWR’s Data Bulletin examines anxiety and depression among construction workers before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The industry already suffers from an alarmingly high and increasing suicide rate, making it particularly important to understand workers’ mental health at this difficult time. In 2020, nearly one out of every six construction workers reported experiencing anxiety/depression, with a higher prevalence among those who were ages 18 to 34 (18%), female (24%), living below the poverty line (18%) or working part time (19%). Report Findings Call Attention to State of Mental Health in Construction Industry

As the pandemic continues to impact the economy and mental health of many workers, construction experiences the second highest rate of suicide among major industries. A new survey of the construction workforce from the American Psychiatric Association Foundation’s Center for Workplace Mental Health, the Construction Financial Management Association, CSDZ and Holmes Murphy, calls attention to this issue and offers insights. New Premises for Children’s Mental Health Services Complete in York

Esh Construction recently completed a new premises that will provide an improved space and environment for children and young people’s mental health services in York (England). Appointed by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust earlier this year, the project included full refurbishment of a building on the Link Business Park in Osbaldwick, just outside of York City Centre.
